HR 333: The "Impeach Dick Cheney Act of 2007"

With 39 co-sponsors, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) introduced HR 333 April 24, 2007—a bill calling for the impeachment of vice-President Richard B. Cheney "for high crimes and misdemeanors" relating to his role in involving the U.S. in a war without cause.

Article I claims that Cheney, "...purposefully manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States by fabricating a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction to justify the use of U.S. Armed Forces against the nation of Iraq in a manner damaging to our national security interests."

Article II claims that Cheney manipulated intelligence to deceive the citizens and Congress about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda to justify the use of U.S. armed forces in Iraq and Article III claims that Cheney has been in violation of his oath to "...faithfully execute the office of Vice President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Each article includes enumerated allegations that support Cheney’s impeachment.

HR 333 has been sent to the House Committee on the Judiciary.
